Ocean baths are an iconic feature of many beach-side towns and suburbs around Australia. Perfect for young children, the elderly and weak swimmers, ocean baths provide the health benefits and ambiance of swimming in the open ocean, but offer protection against the roughness of the surf. While some are little more than rock pools, others are quite flashy, sometimes even with lanes for swimming laps.

Operating since 1860, the venue back then was, like today a sea water pool, gymnasium and 'refreshment' rooms.
It is Australia's only indoor, heated and filtered sea water pool and has undergone a 'state of the art' upgrade that will keep it on the cutting edge of technology, cosmetic appeal and 'thalassotherapy'*
At the 'Bay' end of the pool there is a hot spa which is a great place to relax and watch the ever changing vistas of Port Phillip Bay and the foreshore. The pool also includes steam rooms and change facilities.
In addition to the pool, the St Kilda Sea Baths complex houses some of Melbourne’s finest bars, café's, restaurants, an amazing health club and an internationally awarded Day Spa.
