With its rich colonial history, Melbourne has many beautiful buildings dating back to the Victorian era, and if you're lucky enough to live in one, the chances are you'll want to fill it with antique furniture and other beautiful things from days gone by.

Melbourne has a lot of great antique shops, and therefore it can sometimes be hard to know where to begin looking. Where are the best places in Melbourne and the surrounding areas to shop for antiques? Are there several shops in the area or just one or two? Is the quality good and are they expensive?

When I am in Melbourne I love the Camberwell Antique Centre -it has collectibles and antiques, and there used to be another collectible place round the corner but cannot remember the name.

I also like going along High Street in Armadale for actual antiques, but find this area rather overpriced.

There are many more I really like

I enjoy visiting Tyabb Packing House in Mornington otherwise Waverley Antiques & Collectables Bazaar or Bailey & Co in Seaford
