Have you seen any movie being shot in Melbourne? Could you recognize the actors? The other way, while watching some movie have you identified places from Melbourne?

No I have not -I used to live in sydney and we went to Melbourne a lot, however I have not seen a movie shot in Melbourne, and no, I have also not recognised places in Melbourne.

Have seen/done both in Sydney but only seen a tram in Melbourne on a TV show -I almost thought they were shot indoors on a set as I don't recognise the places..

No I have nexr got a chance in Melbourne. But I have seen it whilst in India.
Yes indeed. I'm a production manager in film and television and can verify Melbourne is constantly used as a filming location. It's cheap and councils are very film friendly. I've shot car commercials for overseas advertising campaigns using the tube-like sound barrier near Flemington - it's constantly used as one of Melbournes' iconic backdrops for car commercials.

The Secret Life of Us constantly used Fitzroy Street in Fitzroy and The Esplanade and Beaconsfield Parade in St Kilda as locations.

Offspring's filming centres in and around Fitzroy, some of these locations include The Union Hotel, Gore and Victoria Streets and the Hospital is the Mercy Private Hospital in East Melbourne. I've often seen them filming at the Fitzroy Gardens.

House Husbands also use St Kilda, Albert Park and Port Melbourne locations. St Kilda Primary School has been a backdrop.

Winners and Losers and not to mention the Underbelly franchise started in Melbourne.

Fitzroy, St Kilda, Albert Park and Port Melbourne are the often used areas in Melbourne. If you live in Melbourne keep an eye out in these areas to catch the film trucks and actors.
