Driving to Melbourne city may be economical but what do you do once you are there? Do you find the cost of parking exorbitant? Where do you mostly park?

I do think parking is very costly in the city of Melbourne. However, this is the case for any big city and in that context, I think it's ok. The cost of parking is a deterrent for people to bring their car.
Yes, I do find parking costs high. Public transport is a cheaper option.
While you can get $10-15 earlybird and some $5 weekend and evening parking, when you roll up to a carpark and the sign says maximum charge $80 then yep, it's really expensive.
Parking can cost an arm and a leg in Melbourne CBD. We had the misfortune of parking our car once at a carpark located on Flinders Lane and we had to foot a bill of $55 for 3 hours of parking.
Don't have a car so thankfully not losing money on parking. Public transport is very convenient in Melbourne.
Yes I do think that parking cost is too high in Melbourne.
